Russian actor Yura Borisov has been nominated for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Best Supporting Actor in the movie "Anora" by American director Sean Baker. The SAG website reported on January 8.

"Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role: Yura Borisov/Igor - 'Anora'," the organization said in a statement.

Among the nominees in this category is American actor Edward Norton, who played in the movie "Bob Dylan: Nobody Knows."

In addition, the film "Anora" is nominated for a Guild Award in the category of "Best Actor". Its rivals include such films as "Emilia Perez," "Conclave," "Wicked: Tale of the Witch of the West" and "Bob Dylan: Nobody Knows."

The nominations were released online as the ceremony to announce them, which was to be held in Los Angeles that day, was canceled due to severe wildfires in the state of California.

Earlier, on January 3, Yura Borisov and Mark Eidelstein were nominated for their roles in the film "Anora" for BAFTA, the UK's main film award. In total, the picture received nine nominations for this award.

Prior to that, in December 2024, Borisov was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in "Anora". The film also received nominations in the categories of Best Film (Musical/Comedy) and Best Screenplay in a Motion Picture. Sean Baker was nominated for the award in the Best Director category.

In addition, "Anora" won the Palme d'Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May.
