Air defense forces destroy Ukrainian missile in Kursk region

Russian air defense forces have destroyed a Ukrainian missile in the sky over Kursk Region. This was reported by the operational headquarters of the region in Telegram-channel on January 8.

"Ukrainian missile destroyed in the sky of the Kursk region. Thanks to the air defense fighters!" - is said in the message.

On January 8, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that air defense forces shot down three drones over the region. No casualties or damage were recorded as a result of the thwarted attack.

Earlier, on January 6, air defense forces destroyed four drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the territories of Kursk and Belgorod regions. It was specified that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy were shot down within two hours - from 11:00 to 13:00 Moscow time.

The armed forces of Ukraine are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to Ukrainian shelling.
