Media reported a series of airstrikes on Yemen by the US and UK


TheUnited States and the United Kingdom launched air strikes against the targets of the Ansar Allah movement's Houthis in the Yemeni capital Sanaa and Amran province. This was reported by Al Mayadeen TV channel in its Telegram channel on January 8
"American and British raids are targeting Yemen's capital Sanaa and Amran province," the report said.
Earlier, on December 31, 2024, Sana' a was also hit by airstrikes. According to Al Masirah TV channel, one of the targets was the Al Ardi building complex, which houses the Houthi defense ministry. Another six strikes hit another neighborhood.
On the same day, the Yemeni Houthis claimed a missile attack on Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, as well as a cruise missile and drone strike on a US aircraft carrier preparing a major attack on Yemen.
The Houthis began striking ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden last November to protest Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. On the night of Jan. 12, in response to their actions, the U.S. and Britain launched an attack on Houthi targets in Yemen. The White House said the strikes on movement-controlled areas of the country were defensive in nature. It was also claimed at the time that the strikes were carried out to protect international vessels.
