Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the joint troops of Russia, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as see a map of military operations as of January 8 in the Izvestiya piece.

The Defense Ministry said that the Russian military struck military airfields, as well as assembly and storage sites for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in 147 areas.

At the same time, air defense assets shot down six shells of the American-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) and 105 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the enemy aircraft type.

In addition, the Russian army took 18 AFU servicemen prisoner to the west of the locality of Kurakhovo in the DNR.

In total, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 39,723 UAVs, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,290 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,507 MLRS combat vehicles, 20,284 field artillery and mortars, 29,983 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
