Russian Su-35s and Su-35s struck the AFU in the Kursk border area

On January 8, the crew of the Su-35s multipurpose fighter aircraft of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) performed a combat mission to escort fighter-bombers in the border areas of the Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 8.

It is noted that the Su-34 fighter-bomber escorted by Su-35s struck a stronghold and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the targets were successfully eliminated.

After completing the combat mission, the entire group successfully returned to the basing airfield. It is specified that pilots perform all combat sorties in all weather conditions and at any time.

Earlier, on January 6, the crew of the Su-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Armed Forces launched a strike on AFU personnel, armored vehicles and a stronghold in the border area of Kursk Region. The crew, having received confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of personnel, equipment and a Ukrainian army stronghold, safely returned to the airfield.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
