Kamala Harris' residence is in an evacuation zone due to wildfires

The residence of current U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris was in the evacuation zone due to wildfires that spread from Pacific Palisades and Eaton to residential buildings in Los Angeles (California). This was reported by CNN on January 8.
Harris said she has been briefed and will continue to receive updates on the wildfires. The politician also addressed her fellow citizens in connection with the incident.
"I sympathize with everyone touched by the fire with all my heart. As a proud daughter of California, I know the damage wildfires do to our neighbors and communities. <...> As we respond and recover, I will make sure our administration is in constant contact with state and local officials," she said.
Meanwhile, according to the channel, the disaster has destroyed 2,900 acres (over 1,173 hectares) of land. Extinguishing is complicated by strong wind with gusts up to 96 km/h. Moreover, the wind is expected to intensify in the city.
Emergency services of Los Angeles (California) urged residents to be ready to evacuate due to fires earlier in the day. The city declared a state of emergency because of wildfires. It was reported that 27 thousand local residents of Pacific Palisades are called for forced evacuation.
