On January 8, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of servicemen of the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the "North" group of troops in defeating armored vehicles and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region.

The video shows the combat work of servicemen of one of the control points of the 30th motorized rifle regiment of the "North" group of troops, who participated in the defeat of the AFU personnel near the farm Berdin in the border area of the Kursk Region.

Ukrainian troops attempted to break through to Berdin, but the AFU's attempts failed. Russian servicemen are now continuing to mop up the wooded areas where the remnants of the AFU have taken refuge.

"Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were allocated to practice on enemy equipment and manpower. Challenger tank, the first we worked it off. After that we stopped the trawl, which was carrying out demining of the road to access our positions. After that we worked on a modernized T-62 tank. Then we destroyed an armored combat vehicle (ACV), an armored personnel carrier (APC)," said the commander of the UAV platoon with the call sign Makar.

In addition to motorized riflemen of the 30th regiment, paratroopers from the Far East and other units of the "North" group of troops also worked on the AFU militants in the Berdin area.

"The AFU militants surrendered in the assault. The Ukrainian army is sending people to slaughter. The mopping up continues. I don't know what they were hoping for. They are blowing themselves up on their own mines, we saw it yesterday. The 30th regiment performs tasks very seriously, success will be behind us", - commented the commander of the assault squad with the call sign Mirazh.

In the course of combat work, the attackers of the motorized rifle regiment in the area of the farm Berdin captured several Ukrainian servicemen, who claim that the command abandoned them.

"We began to be shelled when approaching. We had a lot of "three hundredths". We were told to wait until early. We were thrown like meat by the commanders, told to go on the defensive. We drove there, not knowing where. We arrived. They told us to occupy the village and keep a circular defense, and that's it," - said the Ukrainian servicemen.

"A sniper's main weapon is not the rifle, but the fear he sows."

Earlier, on January 7, the head of intelligence of the special forces unit "Akhmat" with the call sign Shatun revealed the details of the reflection of the attempted counterattack of the AFU in Kursk region. The AFU servicemen, who attempted to launch a counterattack in the Kursk direction, were spotted in advance with the help of UAVs.

On August 6, 2024, the AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
