Hyacinth calculations destroyed a camouflaged AFU gun in Kursk Region


A combat crew of 152-millimeter towed guns 2A36 Hyacinth-B of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia has destroyed a camouflaged gun of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Kursk Region in the course of counter-battery warfare. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 8.
In the course of artillery and air reconnaissance in the ruins of houses of one of the settlements was identified camouflaged gun of the AFU.
After transmitting the coordinates, the calculation of the 152-millimeter gun "Hyacinth-B" immediately carried out the aiming of the gun. With the first shot he made a correction, and the second shot accurately hit the target, destroying the enemy artillery installation.
"Scouts give us targets, coordinates, we work on them. When one enemy gun works, we work on it, followed by the second one. And we respond to the second one as well," said the gun commander with the call sign Kholod.
Real-time objective control footage obtained from the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) complex confirmed the destruction of the target.
Earlier, on January 6, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military had repelled an attempt by AFU assault groups to counterattack in the direction of the village of Bolshoye Soldatskoye in Kursk Region. The main forces of Ukrainian servicemen were liquidated near the farm Berdin, the AFU lost more than 150 people, four tanks and other equipment.
On the same day, fighters of the volunteer unit "Burevestnik" gave Izvestia the footage of the Russian military reflecting this counterattack of the AFU. The video shows a column of Ukrainian equipment moving, on which the Russian military is striking. The targets were successfully destroyed.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
