Su-35 struck an AFU stronghold and personnel in the Kursk Region


The crew of the Su-35 multirole fighter with controlled thrust vectoring of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) has performed a combat mission to escort fighter-bombers in the border areas of the Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 8.
The Su-34 multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber and its escorting Su-35 fighter bomber bombed a stronghold and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The crew carried out the bombardment with high-explosive aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK). The forward air gunner confirmed the destruction of the targets.
Earlier, on January 6, the crew of a Ka-52M helicopter destroyed an AFU stronghold in the Kursk border region. In the course of the combat mission to support the units of the "North" group, the pilots of the army aviation performed missile launches according to the coordinates of the aviation spotter and destroyed armored vehicles, a stronghold and personnel of the AFU.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
