A state of emergency has been declared in Los Angeles due to wildfires

The city of Los Angeles in the state of California declared a state of emergency because of wildfires. This was reported by CNN on January 7.
City Council President Markis Harris-Dawson said that the city will use all resources. He also noted that he is currently acting mayor, as Karen Bass is on a diplomatic trip.
Meanwhile, 27,000 local residents of Pacific Palisades have been called for a forced evacuation, ABC News noted.
Earlier in the day, Los Angeles emergency responders urged residents to be prepared to evacuate due to the fires. According to Eric Scott, a spokesman for the city's fire department, by noon the fire had spread to an area of more than 200 acres (80.9 hectares) and particularly affected the highlands of Pacific Palisades.
