Emergency responders in Los Angeles are urging residents to be prepared to evacuate due to wildfires. This was reported by FOX 11 TV channel on January 7.

It is specified that in the morning firefighters went to the scene of the fire in the area of Piedra Morada and Monte Hermoso streets.

According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Eric Scott, by noon the fire had spread to more than 200 acres (80.9 hectares) and was particularly affecting the Pacific Palisades Highlands. Firefighters arriving on the scene requested evacuations from the entire area.

Los Angeles city officials advised those not in the evacuation zone to take cover and stay off the roads to allow rescuers and evacuees to move quickly.

As reported by KGET TV station, the evacuation order also applied to Malibu neighborhoods east of Las Flores.

Earlier on Dec. 10, a 900-hectare wildfire broke out in Malibu. Due to the fire threat, a red level warning was put in place in some neighborhoods. Fire departments are fighting the fire, and the authorities announced evacuation for at least 18 thousand people and 8.1 thousand houses.
