Trump called Biden's 'fiasco' the cause of the conflict in Ukraine

The conflict in Ukraine was the result of the "fiasco" of incumbent US President Joe Biden, and this crisis might not have arisen at all if the US leader had been different. This was stated by the President-elect of the United States, Republican Donald Trump on January 7 at a press conference at his residence in Mar-a-Lago in the state of Florida.
"It was a fiasco Biden got that should never have happened if we had a real president, if we had a president who knew what he was doing," Trump said, his words broadcast on the YouTube channel of Fox News Channel's New York bureau.
The Republican noted that because of the steps of the current American leader, the situation in Ukraine risks further escalation, and the conflict itself is a catastrophe in which people die every day.
The American president-elect emphasized that the Biden administration is incompetent and does not understand what it is doing, and this was also the cause of the Ukrainian conflict. The Republican assured that his team knows how to act in the context of this crisis.
At the same time, Trump noted that the Biden administration not only fueled the Ukrainian crisis, but is also doing everything it can to make the job of its successors more difficult, exacerbating all the problems that already exist.
Trump added that he "understands Russia's feelings" about Ukraine's likely entry into NATO and has always believed that Kiev's integration into the alliance is impossible. In addition, the president-elect is confident that Russia and Ukraine reached an agreement at the talks and worked out terms that suited everyone. Nevertheless, Biden destroyed all these agreements, telling Ukraine that it should be ready to join the alliance, and it should be given at least an opportunity to try to do so.
Earlier, on October 17, 2024, Trump said that the personal responsibility for the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine lies with the president of that country, Vladimir Zelensky, whose powers expired in May 2024. The Ukrainian leader, according to the Republican, should never have allowed this crisis to begin.
Later, on December 27, it was reported that Trump intends to end the conflict in Ukraine, but probably believes that this is possible if Kiev is strong.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn, told reporters on December 26 that Russia intends to end the conflict in Ukraine, not just freeze it.
Trump's team said on December 13 that it was holding talks with Ukrainian officials and the current White House administration on resolving the conflict. Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, then also admitted the end of this crisis in the coming months.
Before that, on December 3, the Kellogg Plan, developed in April, was published, which described a way to end the Ukrainian conflict. According to Trump's special envoy, it is necessary to give up pressure on Moscow and Kiev, as well as attempts to isolate Russia. In addition, it is necessary to more actively stimulate a peaceful resolution of the crisis. Kellogg suggested keeping the liberated territories for Russia, easing sanctions and normalizing relations between Washington and Moscow.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
