Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby was outraged by the accusation of Africa in ingratitude from French leader Emmanuel Macron. This was reported on January 7 by Barrons magazine with reference to the social networks of the head of state.

It is noted that earlier the French President said that the African countries "forgot to thank" the state for assistance in the fight against terrorism.

"I would like to express my indignation at the recent statements of President Macron, bordering on contempt for Africa and Africans", - wrote Déby in the social network Facebook (belongs to the organization Meta, recognized in Russia extremist).

According to the Chadian president, Macron "got the era wrong."

Earlier, on November 23, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chad, Abderaman Kulamallah, announced the termination of the revised defense cooperation agreement with France from 2019. The statement implies that the country wants to fully assert its sovereignty and renegotiate strategic partnerships after 66 years of independence.
