Russian Armed Forces destroy 10 AFU tanks in Kursk region over 24 hours


The Russian Armed Forces destroyed 10 Ukrainian tanks in Kursk Region over the past 24 hours. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on 7 January.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost over 325 servicemen, as well as other military equipment, including an infantry fighting vehicle, an armored personnel carrier, 11 armored combat vehicles, eight cars, three artillery pieces and three mortars.
Also, the Russian army hit the AFU's manpower and equipment in the areas of seven localities with strikes of operational-tactical and army aviation and artillery fire.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of a stronghold and personnel of AFU units by the crew of the Mi-35M helicopter in the Kursk border area. After the strike, an anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps was performed.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
