The US has pointed to Ukraine's inability to survive another year of fighting

Ukraine is unlikely to survive another year of hostilities with Russia. This was reported by the US newspaper The Washington Post on 6 January.
"Ukraine is unlikely to survive another year of this destructive [conflict]," the publication writes.
The author of the material believes that Kiev is losing its territories and troops. The next few weeks will determine whether Ukraine can continue to exist as a sovereign state.
On December 12, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Dubynskyy, who is in a Ukrainian detention center on suspicion of treason, said that Ukraine had already lost the conflict and that Donbas was actually lost to it. He explained that the US Democratic Party led by current President Joe Biden continues to sponsor Ukraine under the guise of forming a strong negotiating position, although in fact they seek to prolong the conflict for another two years.
On 10 December, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergey Naryshkin, said that the AFU is on the verge of collapse and the situation on the front is not in Kiev's favor. In the same month, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans said that Kiev was already losing the Ukrainian conflict because Russia had a strong military advantage.
The special operation to defend Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is still ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
