Mi-35M helicopter destroys AFU troops and a stronghold in the Kursk border region

An Mi-35M helicopter crew has destroyed a stronghold and personnel of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) units in the border area of Kursk Region. The work of the army aviation was demonstrated by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 7.

The pilots, performing the task of supporting units of the "North" group, carried out missile launches according to the coordinates of the air guide and destroyed the position and enemy manpower.

"After the strike, the crews performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"The battalion was born in the Kursk battles."

A day earlier, the Defense Ministry reported that the crew of a Ka-52M helicopter destroyed a manpower, armored vehicles and a stronghold of AFU units in the Kursk border region. A forward air gunner confirmed the destruction of the targets.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
