US President-elect Donald Trump's special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has postponed his previously announced trip to Kiev. He was scheduled to arrive in the Ukrainian capital in early January, but the visit will now take place after Trump's inauguration, Reuters reported on January 7, citing sources.

"US President-elect Donald Trump's new special envoy to Ukraine has postponed a familiarization trip to Kiev and other European capitals until Trump's inauguration on January 20," the report said.

The agency specifies that it is unknown why Kellogg postpones this trip.

Earlier, on December 13, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg admitted the end of the conflict in Ukraine in the coming months. According to him, the President-elect of the United States is capable of decisive actions to resolve conflicts.

On December 18, it was reported that Keith Kellogg will visit Kiev in early January. It was quoted that Kellogg does not plan to visit Moscow during his trip to Europe. Instead, he will visit top leaders in Kiev. In addition, his team is currently working on organizing meetings with leaders in other European capitals.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
