Soldiers of the "North" group of troops celebrated Christmas in dugouts in the Kursk region

Servicemen of the Marine Corps of the "North" group of troops have celebrated Christmas at a divine service in dugouts on the front line in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 7.

The Christmas service was led by volunteer priest Archpriest Archpriest Vladislav Reutov.

"As much as possible to go around, to share the holiday. The holiday of Christmas is not only a holiday of all Christians, but also of Muslims. That's why we all celebrate Christmas, as the Church calls it, the mother of all holidays," he commented.

On Christmas days, military priests visit combat positions, perform prayers for the victory of the Russian army, give communion and confess the servicemen.

"This is very important, I think, not only for me, for everyone. As a person of faith, I went to church while still a civilian. Well I think before the battle it is very important. To listen to the priest, to purify yourself," - said the shooter with the call sign Leshy.

Earlier, on December 28, 2024, servicemen of the 5th Independent Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade equipped a prayer room for military priests to conduct services, confession and communion of believers. The priests provide the soldiers with the opportunity to join the church sacraments.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. Ukrainian militants who invaded Russian territory are being liquidated.
