Houthi military spokesman says strikes on Israeli targets
Yemeni military spokesman of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement Yahya Saria said on January 6 that drone strikes were carried out against Israeli facilities in Tel Aviv and Ashkelon.
"The IAF conducted two operations this afternoon, the first one included a strike on an Israeli enemy military facility in occupied Jaffa (Tel Aviv. - Ed.) using two drones," Al Masirah TV quoted him as saying.
In addition, Saria said that a second operation targeting a vital Israeli facility in Ashkelon was also carried out using a drone.
The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman added that the Houthis successfully conducted a military operation against the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the northern Red Sea.
"The operation, conducted with the use of two cruise missiles and four drones, disrupted the United States' preparations for a large-scale airstrike on Yemen," he concluded.
Earlier, on January 5, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted a missile that was fired from the direction of Yemen. It is specified that the activation of the air-raid sirens was done in accordance with protocol.
On December 21, 2024, it was reported that Yemen struck Tel Aviv, injuring 30 people. The IDF launched an investigation into the reasons for the failure to intercept a missile launched from Yemen.
Prior to that, on December 19, Yahya Saria, a military spokesman for Yemen's Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement, said that the missile forces had launched a drone attack on a target located in Tel Aviv.
