One person was injured in a domestic gas explosion, which occurred in the closed cafe "Arkobaleno", located in the Karelian town of Sortavala. This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the regional Prosecutor's office on January 6.
Preliminary, the explosion with subsequent fire occurred around 15:30 on Monday. The victim received a burned hand, he was provided with medical assistance. The fire, which arose as a result of the explosion, was liquidated by rescuers of Sortavala municipal district.
It is specified that the work of special services and law enforcement agencies at the scene is coordinated by the city prosecutor Anton Grimanov.
On the fact of the explosion organized an inspection, according to the results of which the prosecutor's office will assess compliance with safety requirements for the use of gas equipment.
Earlier in the day in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow reported that in the village of Letovo, located in New Moscow, there was a fire of four cabins, which resulted in the death of one person. The fire was liquidated with the involvement of 27 specialists and six units of equipment.
