Ex-US lieutenant colonel says Russian Federation's key advantage in Ukraine talks

Russia has a key advantage in the negotiations on Ukraine. Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said this in an interview on the YouTube channel Wion on January 6.
He pointed out that Russia's Armed Forces can militarily achieve all of its objectives.
"Here's the bitter truth: It doesn't matter if Donald Trump or anyone else is involved in the negotiations because [Russian President] Vladimir Putin has a key advantage in the process," the retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel said.
Earlier, on October 8, Davis called the "victory plan" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired last May 20, contradictory and nonsensical. He added that the head of the Kiev regime was "finally confused" in terms and unable to distinguish between negotiations and a forceful solution to the issue.
Putin, for his part, emphasized that the Russian side had never refused to negotiate on Ukraine, but not on the basis of "ephemeral demands" but on the basis of the parameters agreed in Istanbul. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out, Washington, Europe and the authorities in Kiev are now not inclined to political and diplomatic means.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
