Footage of the destruction of AFU equipment during the fighting for the town of Kurakhovo has been published

On January 6, Izvestiya has at its disposal footage of the Russian military destroying equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the liberation of the town of Kurakhovo, which is located in the southwestern part of Donbas.

The footage shows explosions hitting Ukrainian militants' equipment, which was placed in forest belts and among residential houses. In total, the video shows the destruction of at least 18 pieces of equipment.

On January 6, the Russian military completely liberated the town of Kurakhovo. It was reported that as a result of the combat work of the Russian troops in the liberation of the settlement, the enemy lost 80% of the living force (more than 12,000 people), about 3,000 units of weapons and military equipment, including 40 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
