Russian military liberated the village of Dachenskoye in the DNR


The Russian Armed Forces have liberated the village of Dachenskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 6.
"As a result of decisive actions of the units of the Center group of troops, the settlement of Dachenskoye in the DNR was liberated," the ministry said.
In addition, the enemy's manpower and equipment were hit in the areas of Dzerzhinsk, Shcherbinovka, Dimitrov, Sribnoye, Andreevka, Novovasilevka, Ukrainka, Novoalexandrovka and Shevchenko. 14 militant counterattacks were repulsed.
The losses of the Ukrainian army in the area of responsibility of the mentioned grouping amounted to up to 535 servicemen, four tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers made in the USA and VAB made in France, five armored fighting vehicles, 10 cars, a Grad MLRS combat vehicle, a 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery unit made in Poland, two 152-mm Msta-B howitzers and two 122-mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units.
Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry said that units of the South group of forces had completely liberated the town of Kurakhovo, the largest population center in the southwestern part of Donbass. The ministry noted that the town had been turned into a powerful fortification with a developed network of firing positions and underground communications for 10 years.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
