The list of "black swans" - unpredictable and unlikely events - of 2025 was compiled by 15 futurologists, scientists and analysts. The list was published by the multimedia publication Politico.

The so-called black swans significantly change the situation in the world. The term was introduced by the creator of the book of the same name, American political scientist of Lebanese origin Nassim Taleb.

The list includes a global market collapse predicted by experts, the largest cyberattack in history, which will disable a significant part of the world's infrastructure, a major epidemic in the United States and a decisive breakthrough in quantum computing.

In politics, such shocks could be the alliance between US President-elect Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping and their joint participation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the development of an agreement to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, and unrest in the US due to changes in state borders.

Experts also admitted secret agreements in the context of Iranian nuclear weapons and the prevention of conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv, Gazeta.Ru added.

Back in early August, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted that the Doomsday Clock, which symbolizes the degree of tension in the world over the nuclear threat, shows "without two minutes," but this does not mean that the escalation process is irreversible.
