IAEA reports explosions near ZNPP after AFU drone attack


Explosions occurred near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) after a Ukrainian drone attacked the plant's training center. This was reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on January 5.
"IAEA staff today reported loud explosions near Zaporizhzhya NPP, which coincided with reports of a drone attack on the training center of the plant," - stated in the text of the message.
It is noted that the presence of any damage at the moment can not be confirmed.
Earlier in the day it became known that Ukrainian militants attacked the roof of the building "G" of the training center of the training center of Zaporizhzhya NPP with a drone. It was specified that no one was injured as a result of the attack, there was also no destruction.
Before that, on December 5, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said that the situation around Zaporizhzhya NPP, as long as the hostilities are going on near the facility, continues to be tense and unstable.
Zaporizhzhya region, where the nuclear power plant is located, became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022. Since that time, Zaporizhzhya NPP has been under constant IAEA control.
