Russian paratroopers evacuated a captured AFU BMP to the rear of the country

In the Kursk border region, a repair and evacuation group has delivered a trophy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) to the location of a separate Guards Airborne Troops' airborne assault unit from the Far East. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 6.

The group ensured the evacuation of trophy equipment after conducting an engineering reconnaissance of the area. The paratroopers hooked a BMP of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in tow and delivered it to a repair unit.

"This unit of equipment we extracted from the locality of Lyubimovka. The technique was evacuated, transferred for transportation on trawls, then transferred to the repair company, where now this copy and restore," - said the deputy commander of the repair company with the call sign Chain.

After the repair work on the restoration will be decided on the further use of trophy equipment.

"Our operators got into the power compartment, where the internal combustion engine was located. We are doing an overhaul of the engine, pouring special fuel and lubricating fluids and check," - specified the serviceman.

During the evacuation of the BMP, the military acted accompanied by an engineering team, air defense and electronic warfare teams. This provides reliable defense against AFU drones.

Earlier, on November 23, units of the Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Regiment from Feodosia captured a Western-made Mastiff armored vehicle. AFU fighters on armored vehicles ran into the regiment's positions. Crimean paratroopers, in turn, stopped the enemy's advance by ambushing them, after which they defeated the enemy, destroyed a large number of AFU personnel and equipment and seized the armored vehicle.
