Russian military destroyed a pickup truck and AFU personnel in Zaporizhzhya region

Operators of anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the anti-tank unit of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Dnepr Group of Forces have destroyed a pickup truck and a live force of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters in Zaporizhzhya Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 6.
"The main task is reconnaissance and additional reconnaissance. If a target is detected, we hit it either with ATGM or FPV. They (the AFU) hide their equipment in the forests," said a UAV operator with the call sign Kino.
UAV operators conduct reconnaissance in their area of responsibility around the clock, and when targets are detected, they promptly transmit data to the command post or engage them, depending on their nature.
Thanks to the coordinated work of the operators, it is possible to hit enemy positions. They work around the clock and in any weather, which allows them to successfully fulfill their tasks.
Earlier, on January 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that in the Zaporizhzhya region, an unmanned aerial vehicle ( UAV ) of Stavropol paratroopers detected and destroyed a heavy drone of the AFU of the "Baba Yaga" type. The enemy drone was spotted during aerial reconnaissance. Having assessed the situation, the UAV operator decided to attack the enemy drone.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
