Pantsir-S air defense missile and cannon systems continue to carry round-the-clock combat duty over the positions of Russian troops in the border areas of Kursk Region. The footage was published by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 5.
With the support of units of the "North" group of forces, the SAM system has repeatedly destroyed the aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), for this purpose the complex has 12 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, it is equipped with two double-barreled 30-millimeter cannons with an ammunition set of 1,400 rounds.
The crews constantly change positions and are able to switch to combat mode in ten seconds.
On December 25 last year, the High-Precision Complexes holding company, which is part of the Rostec state corporation, supplied the Russian army with missiles for Pantsir anti-aircraft missile-cannon systems and guided missiles for Kornet anti-tank missile systems.
Prior to that, on December 15, the Defense Ministry showed footage of Pantsir-S SAM systems on combat duty in the Kursk border region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory are being liquidated.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
