Polish law enforcers beat up and threw out a Senegalese man at the border with Belarus at night. This was reported by the Belarusian Border Committee of the country on January 5.

"At night from January 4 to 5, Hrodna border guards found a crippled refugee - a citizen of Senegal in Berastovitski district," reads the message in the Telegram-channel of the agency.

They specified that the foreigner was in torn clothes, exhausted and emaciated. There were signs of frostbite on his fingers and toes. To everything else, he could not move independently because of injuries on his legs.

"The Senegalese said that he was detained by law enforcers in Poland, severely beaten and then forced to cross through the gate for animals to the Belarusian territory," added in the Border Committee.

The refugee was given the necessary medical care, then he was hospitalized.

The agency added that the Polish security forces continue to leave the refugees in a life-threatening situation - in a beaten state, without food, water and warm clothes.

Earlier, December 23, 2024, Belarusian border guards found four beaten refugees from Morocco and Egypt on the border with Poland. They were in an exhausted state, their faces and clothes were covered with blood. According to the refugees, they were beaten with batons, stun grenades, tear gas, as well as shot in the face with traumatic weapons. One of the foreigners reported that the Poles laughed as they inflicted wounds on them. Afterwards, they were thrown into the Belarusian territory through an animal gate.

On October 30th , theofficial representative of the Belarusian GPK Anton Bychkouski emphasized that such an attitude of Polish law enforcers to foreign refugees on the border with Belarus is a manifestation of xenophobia.
