There was an explosion in the city of Pavlograd in Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. This was reported by the local TV channel "Public" on January 5.

"In Pavlograd in Dnipropetrovsk region the sound of an explosion is heard," - said in a message published in the Telegram-channel.

According to the online map of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the air alert on the territory of the region was announced at 14:06 (coincides with Moscow time).

The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on the information about the explosions.

Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian TV channel TSN reported about explosions in Chernihiv and Khmelnytskyi regions of Ukraine amid an air alert. Also on January 5, Ukrainian media reported about explosions in Poltava.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
