The Estonian parliament (Riigikogu) has stopped supporting the Russian-language version of its website, explaining it by low attendance. This was reported on January 5 by ERR TV and radio company with reference to the press service of the parliament.

"According to the decision of the Board of Riigikogu, which was made in November 2024, the Russian-language version of the site will be closed from 2025 due to low attendance," - noted in the message.

It is known that measures to close the site in Russian language were taken in November last year. However, the decision came into force on January 1, 2025.

Earlier, November 14, 2024, Charge d'Affaires of Russia in the Republic Lenar Salimullin said that the amendments to the Constitution of Estonia could deprive about 70.4 thousand Russians and over 1 thousand citizens of Belarus of the right to vote. He emphasized: these actions are discriminatory and Russophobic in nature.
