- Media has learned about Yoon Seok Yeol's security guard being allowed to shoot when attempting to arrest him.

The head of the security service of South Korean President Yun Seok-yol Park Jong-jun has authorized his subordinates to use firearms during attempts to arrest the head of the republic. This was reported by Yonhap News Agency on January 5, citing the Toburo Democratic Party.
"The president's security chief has given orders to fire blanks if [security personnel] lose in the crush, and even to use live ammunition if that fails," the party said.
Yonhap News Agency also reported that on January 5, Chief Judge Ma Seong-yeon of the Seoul Western District Court's Seventh Criminal Division Ma Seong-yeon rejected a request for a court order against Yoon Seok-yeol's arrest warrant.
"Cancellation or modification cannot be requested in connection with the arrest (detention), and search warrants are not subject to objection," the judge said, adding that it is illegal to challenge the arrest warrant.
The day before it was reported that protesters staged a rally in Seoul after a failed attempt by law enforcement agencies to arrest the President of the Republic.
Earlier, on January 3, it became known that law enforcers arrived at the residence of the President of South Korea for his arrest. It is specified that a total of about 150 law enforcement officers were sent - about 30 officers of the anti-corruption investigation office for high-ranking officials and 120 police officers. At that time, it was also reported that the President's security service did not allow the investigation to search his residence in Seoul.
Prior to that, on Dec. 31, the court issued an arrest warrant for Yoon Seok-yeol. The president's lawyers said that the warrant for his arrest was invalid.
The situation in the Republic of Korea escalated in early December, when President Yun Seok-yol declared martial law. The reason for such a step he called the threat of paralysis of power, arising from attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings. Commander of the emergency regime - Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Park Ahn-soo noted that until the lifting of martial law in the republic prohibited the activities of the parliament, political parties and associations. Military equipment was brought to the streets of Seoul.
The National Assembly (Parliament) of South Korea officially voted to declare impeachment of President Yun Seok-yol on December 14. A total of 204 National Assembly members voted in favor of removing the president from office, while 85 voted against. The Constitutional Court has 180 days to issue a verdict from the time it receives the case.
