Ukraine mocked Zelensky after Trump's refusal to invite him to inauguration

Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksandr Dubinskyy on Sunday, January 5, poked fun at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term of office expired on May 20, 2024), who did not receive an invitation to the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump.
As emphasized by the people's elected representative, Trump said that Trump said that he did not want to see his Ukrainian colleague at the very solemn event, but would be quite willing to meet with him in Washington in the future.
"At the inauguration itself - kind of no. But right after - yes. Which, in fact, is quite logical. We have to prepare documents for the FBI investigation. And illegitimate President Zelensky has no immunity," Dubinsky joked in his Telegram channel.
Trump's appointee to head the FBI, Cash Patel, said last December 11 that he planned to investigate Zelensky. He emphasized that Americans should know what their money is spent on and also questioned how the US Congress manages to get away with it.
Earlier, on December 17 last year, political scientist Ivan Mezyukho in a conversation with Izvestia said that Trump humiliated Zelensky by saying that he did not invite him to his inauguration, but he could come. The corresponding statement was made by Trump a day earlier at a press conference at the Mar-a-Lago residence. Zelensky, emphasized Meziucho, is in an extremely difficult position, so by all rights and wrongs will try to earn trust from Trump.
Also on this day, Irish journalist Chay Bose said that Trump had struck a blow against Zelensky by not inviting him to the inauguration. He called the move "the strongest blow to the teeth" of the Ukrainian president.
Earlier, on December 11, CBS News, citing sources, reported that Trump had invited Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to his inauguration. Journalists then clarified that a delegation will attend Trump's inauguration instead of the Chinese leader. The Chinese ambassador to Washington and his wife are expected to attend the event.
The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
