Izhevsk airport lifted temporary restrictions on aircraft reception and release

Izhevsk airport has lifted restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft, Rosaviatsia said on Sunday, January 5.

The restrictions were lifted at 10:31 Moscow time.

"During the period of restrictions, two airplanes flying to Izhevsk landed at the reserve airfield Kirov (Pobedilovo)," the agency's spokesman Artem Korenyako said in a message in his Telegram channel.

From 10:32 Moscow time, the restrictions have also been lifted at the airports of Kazan and Nizhnekamsk (Begishevo).

The Rosaviatsia representative added that during the period of restrictions, five airplanes flying to Kazan landed at alternate airfields. Also, an aircraft traveling to Nizhnekamsk landed at an alternate airfield.

Later, Artem Korenyako reported that from 11:00 Moscow time the restrictions ceased to operate at Perm airport.

Earlier, on January 2, a spokesman for Rosaviatsia reported that restrictions to ensure the safety of civilian aircraft flights were temporarily introduced at the airports of Kaluga, Penza, Saratov and Saransk. According to him, airplane crews, air traffic controllers and airport services took all necessary measures as a matter of priority. Later that day they were lifted.
