Fomin fulfilled the dreams of the children of a SWO participant as part of the Wish Tree

Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Colonel General Alexander Fomin has fulfilled the dreams of Vasilisa and Dmitry Kurevlevyev, children of a participant of a special military operation (SMO), as part of the New Year's charity event "Wish Tree". This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 5.

Vasilisa said that she would like to receive a sketchbook for drawing as a gift for the New Year, and her brother Dmitry has long dreamed of a railroad.

The Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on behalf of the Colonel General organized an excursion for the children and their mother to the Studio of Military Artists named after M.B. Grekov. There the guests saw the workshops of painters and sculptors, the baguette workshop, familiarized themselves with the foundry and design bureau, as well as the works presented in the exhibition hall for temporary exposition.

At the end of the tour Vasilisa and Dmitry were presented with the coveted gifts by Artem Gorny, Director of the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Vasilisa, in addition to the sketchbook, also received a gift certificate to attend an individual master class from the studio's painting masters.

The day before, on January 4, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Major General Pavel Fradkov also took part in the "Christmas Tree of Wishes" charity event and presented Vasilisa from the Leningrad region with a snowcat. On behalf of the Deputy Minister, Ded Moroz and Snegurochka came to the girl, gave her the promised gift and played games together with her family.

The "Wishing Tree" charity event is a project of the Russian "Movement of the First" with the support of Rosmolodezh, which has been taking place since 2018 and lasts from mid-November to the end of February. Thanks to the campaign, children aged 3-17 who find themselves in a difficult life situation get an opportunity to fulfill a cherished wish or receive a gift for the New Year.
