Italy's prime minister has arrived in Florida to meet with Trump


Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived at the residence of US President-elect Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago in the state of Florida. This was reported by The New York Times on January 4, citing sources.
"The meeting strengthens the hopes of Meloni's supporters that the conservative Italian prime minister will become Trump's main ally in Europe," the publication said.
According to the sources, the politicians plan to hold an informal meeting. Within its framework it is expected to discuss the settlement of tensions between other European leaders and Trump, adds "Gazeta.Ru".
Earlier, December 19, the White House reported on the planned visit of current US President Joe Biden to Rome from January 9 to 12. It was noted that Biden plans to meet with Meloni, with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, as well as with Pope Francis.
