The Daily Mail reported on Americans' complaints about chemical fog

Residents of many American states complained about a strange fog in the streets with the smell of chemicals. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper on January 3.
The publication specified that, according to Americans, in recent days in residential areas appeared "unusual" fog with "the smell of burning chemicals". Some people have reported unpleasant symptoms after briefly inhaling this fog. For example, a Florida resident said she and her company stopped at a gas station for about 10 minutes, after which everyone felt sick.
"I kept sneezing over and over for about three hours and my eyes were very swollen. I got very warm and felt like I had a fever and my stomach was cramping," the publication quoted her as saying.
In addition, a California resident reported a burning sensation in her nose on social media, and a Kansas resident shared that over the course of a week, "a huge amount of chemtrails" appeared over her neighborhood, followed by a thick fog. According to the publication, similar experiences have been reported in Canada and the United Kingdom.
In view of such an unusual phenomenon, many Americans fear that the mysterious fog may be another government operation similar to Operation Sea Spray. However, in turn, the publication pointed out that the unusual odor may be related to the ability of fog droplets to take on foul air particles near the surface of the earth and retain an unpleasant smell for long periods of time.
"The chemical odor associated with this recent fog likely does not come from the fog itself, but rather from pollutants that were already present in the air when the fog formed," the publication said.
And the painful sensations, the publication continued, may be due to the fact that water-saturated air can irritate the human respiratory system.
In September 1950, the U.S. Navy sprayed huge amounts of bacteria into the air near the coast of San Francisco, California. The purpose of this biological warfare experiment (Operation Sea Spray) was to see how vulnerable major U.S. cities like San Francisco would be to a biological attack.
Earlier, on December 31 last year, 20 people were affected by toxic fumes at a cheese factory in the US state of New Mexico. As reported by the Assosiated Press (AP), the cause of the incident was a chemical overflow that occurred at Southwest Cheese's plant due to a mechanical malfunction in one of the plant's rooms. All of the injured were taken to hospitals, two of them are in critical condition.
