A UAV attacked AFU personnel and equipment in the Red Army direction of the North Caucasus Military District.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit of the Center group of troops has destroyed Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) personnel and equipment in the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 5.

The ministry specified that the aircraft was carrying out tasks to support the offensive actions of Russian attack aircraft. FPV attack drones were used in the course of the task.

The UAV calculations of the Center group of forces destroy armored combat vehicles, observation posts, as well as the AFU's manpower, disrupting rotations and attempts to counterattack Ukrainian militants on the line of contact.

Earlier, on January 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that in the Zaporizhzhya region, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of Stavropol paratroopers detected and destroyed an AFU heavy drone of the "Baba Yaga" type. The enemy drone was spotted during aerial reconnaissance. Having assessed the situation, the UAV operator decided to attack the enemy drone.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
