In the northwest of Dallas in the United States 579 animals died in a pet store in a fire in a shopping center. This was reported by CBS television channel on January 4.

"The Fire and Rescue Department of Dallas reported that as a result of the fire <...> killed 579 animals, most of them - from smoke poisoning," - stated in the material.

It is specified that the dead animals were kept in an exotic pet store.

"Mostly they were small birds, but there were also chickens, hamsters, two dogs and two cats," said a representative of the Dallas Fire Department, specifying that there were no exotic animals on site.

The TV station noted that Dallas firefighters experienced in putting out fires performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a turtle and revived a nearly dying puppy.

Last December, there was a garage fire in Crimea that involved seven cats. They were all rescued. The Russian Emergencies Ministry added that one cat inhaled smoke, but rescuers were able to pump it out. The fire was caused by a short circuit in the wiring.
