Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko has called on US entrepreneur Ilon Musk to help hold elections in Ukraine. She published the corresponding post on January 3 on her page in the social network X (former Twitter).

"Let Musk demand to hold elections in Ukraine," she wrote in response to the news that Musk called for the UK to hold elections.

Earlier, on January 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired in May 2024) said that he has not yet decided whether he will run for a second term.

Before that, on December 22 last year, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmytruk said that most Ukrainians would vote against Zelensky and choose a politician who supports peace with Russia.

In November, The Times reported that Zelensky's declining popularity made his chances of re-election very slim. According to the newspaper, only 16 percent of Ukrainians would support re-election, while 60 percent opposed his candidacy for office.

According to the provisions of the Ukrainian Constitution, Zelensky's presidential term ended on May 20, 2024. Elections were supposed to be held in March last year, but they were canceled due to martial law imposed by the president, effective from February 24, 2022.
