Honored Artist of Russia and actor of the N.V. Gogol Moscow Drama Theater Alexander Zotov died at the age of 69. This was reported on January 4 on the website of the theater.

"We regret to inform that on January 3 passed away actor of the Gogol Theater, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Borisovich Zotov," - noted in the message.

It is specified that the artist had heart problems, and a year and a half ago he underwent surgery.

The actor was born on April 29, 1955 in Moscow. In 1982, he graduated from GITIS and received a specialty of actor of dramatic theater and cinema. Since 1970, Zotov served in the Youth Theater "On Krasnaya Presnya near the Stanislavsky House".

In 1999, the artist received the title of Honored Artist of Russia. Since 2021, Zotov was an actor of the Moscow Drama Theater named after Gogol. He took part in the plays "Sunday", "Nine", as well as "Friends of Games and Amusements".

The farewell ceremony with Alexander Zotov is scheduled for January 6.
