The head physician of the Alyoshkinsk hospital, Volodymyr Kharlan, who was injured in a drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a medical facility in Kherson Region, will undergo surgery in Moscow. This was announced by the Minister of health of the region Artysh Sat on January 4.

"The head doctor of the Alyoshkin hospital Vladimir Harlan is sent for specialized treatment in the capital, in the near future Vladimir Ivanovich will undergo eye surgery", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Ministry of health of the region with reference to Sat.

It is also specified that the Alyoshkinskaya central district hospital continues to work normally, adds "Gazeta.Ru". The population is provided with the necessary medical care.

The shelling occurred on December 30. As a result of the attack of Ukrainian militants, deputy chief doctor Vasily Borisov was killed. Vladimir Kharlan was seriously wounded. It was specified that this was the second attempt on his life.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the organizers of the attack on the hospital building in Aleshki and other crimes of Kiev will be inevitably punished.

Kherson Region government spokesman Andrei Alekseenko said the next day that the AFU had struck the hospital in Aleshki again and burned down a mothballed school in Novaya Kakhovka. There were no casualties as a result of the repeated attack.

Later, the World Health Organization(WHO) condemned the AFU attack on the central hospital.

The AFU has been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid a special operation to defend Donbas, which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
