The Russian Armed Forces destroyed an AFU tank with the Lancet in the border area of Kursk region

The North group of troops destroyed a tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using a Lancet barrage munition in the border area of Kursk Region. The objective control footage was published by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 4.

"The servicemen of the reconnaissance unit of the "North" group of troops with the help of aerial reconnaissance means revealed the movement of an AFU tank in a wooded area near one of the settlements in the border area of Kursk region," the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that the Lancet hit was direct and destroyed the tank. Images of objective control came in real time.

Earlier in the day, units of 2S9 "Nona-S" self-propelled guns of Tula paratroopers suppressed AFU firing points in the border areas of Kursk region. The crews of the Nona self-propelled guns drove into firing positions and hit AFU soldiers in a forest belt.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian President on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
