Two WFU militants accused of carrying out terrorist attack in Kursk region

The preliminary investigation into the criminal case against servicemen of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the armed formations of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Manko and Yuriy Radchenko has been completed. This was reported by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia on January 4.
The servicemen are accused of committing terrorist acts (paragraphs "a", "c" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) in the Kursk region.
According to the investigation, in August 2024, Manko and Radchenko illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation. While in Sujansky district of Kursk region, they, with AK-74 rifles and explosive devices, intimidated the local population, occupied private houses, forbade civilians to move and repeatedly opened fire on Russian Armed Forces soldiers and civilians.
"On August 30 last year, during combat operations on the territory of the Russian Federation, Manko and Radchenko were captured by Russian servicemen. They are currently in a place of detention of prisoners of war," the department's Telegram channel said in a statement.
In December last year, the court placed four other Ukrainian militants in custody in the case of committing terrorist attacks in the village of Snagost in the Kursk region. Those arrested were members of the 64th separate rifle battalion of the 44th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In August, the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, said in an interview with Izvestia that the Russian Foreign Ministry had a proof base of the Kiev regime's crimes against civilians in Kursk Region and intended to make it public. He specified that the relevant materials had been transferred to the states, which "should know the truth about what is happening." In late December, he said that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation had opened more than 6,000 criminal cases on the Kiev regime's crimes since 2014.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
