In China, a market fire killed eight people and injured 15 others

In the Chinese province of Hebei there was a fire at a vegetable market, as a result of which eight people died and 15 others were injured. This was reported by the agency "Xinhua" on January 4.

It is noted that the incident occurred in the city of Zhangjiakou in the early morning.

"The fire broke out around 8:40 am at a market selling vegetables and other essential goods," the report noted.

Footage from social media shows that the sky in the area of the incident was covered with thick smoke, and the flames spread to numerous tents in the market.

It is specified that the powerful fire was liquidated in an hour. The condition of the injured is not specified.
