Six powerful flares occurred on the Sun, one of them - class X. This was reported on January 4 on the website of the Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics.

According to experts, the first flare M2.3 occurred on Saturday night at 1:12 Moscow time and lasted 31 minutes.

The most powerful flare of class X1.1 lasting 24 minutes was registered at 1:41 Moscow time.

Later, during the night and morning of January 4, four more M-class flares with durations ranging from seven to 29 minutes were registered.

The day before on the Sun occurred the first powerful flare of class X since the beginning of the year, reported on the website of the Institute of Applied Geophysics named after Fedorov.
