A Ural Airlines standby flight left Sharm el-Sheikh airport in Egypt and flew to Ekaterinburg after an incident with a failed engine. This was reported by the press service of the carrier on January 4.

It is noted that there are 236 passengers on board the aircraft. The plane departed at 11:37 local time. At the airport "Koltsovo" its arrival is expected at about 20:20.

Earlier in the day, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation reported that the Ural Airlines plane had crash-landed at Sharm el-Sheikh airport shortly after takeoff due to a technical malfunction. According to the ministry, technical teams have already conducted an inspection to determine the causes of the malfunction and carried out the necessary repairs.

The airline later noted that a backup flight has been prepared for the plane's passengers. Passengers have been provided with all relevant services while waiting for authorization to depart.
