The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported a 47% increase in new car sales in Russia

Sales of new passenger cars in Russia in 2024 increased by 47%. This was reported on January 4 on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the market volume in the segment of passenger cars amounted to 1.5 million units, the increase - about 47% in relation to the same period last year.

"At the end of January - December 2024 in the territory of the Russian Federation sold 1.8 million units of new cars, which is 39% more than last year's figures," - noted in the message.

In addition, the market of new cars of domestic production amounted to almost 830 thousand units, which is 28% higher than the result of 2023. Also, sales of new electric cars in 2024 increased by 31% to 19.4 thousand units, and the share of manufactured in Russia amounted to 22%.
