In Japan on December 29 at the age of 116 years died the oldest inhabitant of the planet Tomiko Itooka. This was reported by local TV channel NHK on January 4.

"According to the city authorities, Itooka lived well in the city nursing home, but died on December 29 due to old age," - stated in the material.

Tomiko Itooka was born on May 23, 1908 in Osaka, Japan. August 19, 2024, after the death of Spaniard Maria Branyas Morera at the age of 117 years, Itooka was recognized as the oldest person on Earth.
