More than 86 thousand tons of contaminated soil after the wreck of tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 in the Black Sea have been collected in Kuban and Crimea. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry on January 4.
"More than 86 thousand tons of contaminated soil have been collected in Kuban and Crimea," - noted in the Telegram-channel.
It is also specified that about 25 tons of oil-water mixture has been collected in the Kerch Strait.
In addition, 15 km of coastal territory is being cleaned in Crimea, including in the village of Yakovenkovo near the Kyz-Aul lighthouse and in the area of the natural reserve "Opuksky", where oil emissions on the coastline were detected.
January 2, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported that 2.4 thousand tons of oil products had fallen into the Black Sea after the crash of the tankers.
Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels. It was specified that one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group has been set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the accident
